Pilot project to provide advisors with a simulation tool for impacts of water and nitrogen stress under varied climate scenarios.

Problem

Irrigation and fertilization decisions require reliable yield impact forecasts to optimize costs and resource use, especially where water access is limited.

Solution

Grainly provides:

  • scenario simulation for climate and soil types;
  • comparison of irrigation and nitrogen strategies;
  • visualization of expected impacts on yield and stress risk.

Technologies

  • Python (geocoding with Geopy);
  • Integration of crop models (e.g., AquaCrop / CROPWAT) in backend;
  • UI: Streamlit + Altair for interactive charts.

Impact
